In May 2027, we will perform a transcription of Maurice Ravel’s "Boléro". We are seeking works to accompany the concert that are inspired by "Boléro". The way in which these works relate to "Boléro" will be decided by the composers. We are offering the public premiere of the work at the Teatro Auditorium in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and a professional audio and video recording. In addition, there is the opportunity to extend the collaborative relationship between the composers and the ensemble. For this occasion, three works will be selected; these must be original and unpublished, and may last between 5 and 8 minutes. They must be submitted anonymously and must not contain any reference to the composer, otherwise they will be excluded from the call for entries. A pseudonym must be included. A jury comprising the composers Luis Tenaglia, Eugene Birman and Rouzbeh Rafie and the members of the ensemble will select the three winning works.
There are no age or nationality restrictions on participation. The piece must be written for an ensemble of between 4 and 7 musicians, comprising the following:
flute (alto flute)
bass clarinet
tenor sax (soprano sax)
electric guitar
piano
violin
double bass
The use of electronic instruments is not permitted, but amplification is allowed.
There is a participation fee of $15 (to cover all production costs). This participation fee is a donation and is therefore non-refundable.
